Value Partners has appointed Otto Choi as senior director for institutional business, effective May 16.  Based in Hong Kong, he reports to the group’s president, June Wong.

Choi is responsible for developing the group’s institutional business in North Asia. He also collaborates with the overseas offices on global institutional business and consultants relations coverage.

With extensive experience in the asset management industry, Choi was most recently head of China institutional business at Allianz Global Investors ( AGI ). He joined AGI in 2011 and spent more than 10 years with the company.

Choi holds a bachelor’s degree in business administration in international business and global management from the University of Hong Kong. He is a CFA and Chartered Alternative Investment Analyst ( CAIA ) charterholder.
