Citi Bank has appointed Chelsea Chu its head of corporate banking for Taiwan, based in Taipei.
Chu brings over 26 years of banking experience and joins Citi from ANZ in Taiwan, where she was head of corporate coverage for Taiwan. Before that she spent 20 years at Citi covering large corporate clients across industries in Taiwan.
Her return to the bank marks a strategic appointment for Citi, it notes, given her experience and strong CV as a trusted adviser for clients.
Since 2020, the bank has helped raise over US$30 billion, according to Dealogic data, from global capital markets to support Taiwanese corporate clients.
The bank, it notes, is currently ranked by Dealogic as the market leading investment bank by market share year to date, a position it also held in 2024.
Chu will be responsible for delivering the bank platform across all client segments.
“We are confident that under her leadership, Citi’s market leading corporate banking franchise in Taiwan will further accelerate its strong growth trajectory,” states Kaleem Rizvi, the bank’s head of corporate banking for Japan, Australia and North Asia.
Christie Chang, Citi Taiwan’s chair, adds: “Chu’s deep experience and proven track record will be invaluable as we continue to strengthen our client relationships and reinforce our leadership in Taiwan’s corporate banking sector.”
